Qui fu sottoposta a continue selezioni morfologiche al fine di ottenere un piumaggio regolarmente picchiettato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nel 1880 alcuni esemplari furono selezionati dall\u2019allevatore Mr M.Cobb che la rese ulteriormente produttiva,&nbsp; ottenendo la prima razza Ancona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Data la notevole somiglianza con la razza Livorno (da cui si differenzia solo nel piumaggio picchiettato mai presente nella razza toscana) secondo alcuni autori l\u2019Ancona altro non sarebbe che una variet\u00e0 della Livorno che, dalle campagne toscane sarebbe stata portata fino ad Ancona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Caratteristiche<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tipica razza mediterranea, che rientra quindi nella tipologia delle razze leggere campagnole, elegante e ottima ovaiola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E\u2019 provvista di un piumaggio nero dai riflessi verdi metallici, con una macchia bianca all\u2019estremit\u00e0 di ogni penna; questo piumaggio \u00e8 definito <em>Picchiettato,<\/em> gli esemplari migliori sono quelli con picchiettatura di 1 a 3, ossia una perla bianca ogni tre piume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si tratta di una razza molto rustica e vivace che ama vivere all\u2019aperto ed essere lasciata in totale libert\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La pelle \u00e8 gialla e depone un numero di uova bianche annue pari a 200-300 di circa 50 gr<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Origins<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The breed originates in central Italy; its name comes from Ancona seaport from which, around 1848, it was exported to Great Britain. Here it had heavy morphological selections to obtain regularly tapped plumage, and in 1880 M.
